Bowen Island - July 10-14, 2024
Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island), the ancestral and unceded territory of the Squamish Nation, British Columbia
What to expect:
An experience that draws you inward. Evolve Retreats was created with the intention of bringing people together, offering opportunity of self reflection, personal growth, nourishment and a deeper sense of community. Our chosen locations are designed to inspire and support you as you take a step back from your everyday life and spend intentional time with yourself and those around you. Through practices of yoga, meditation, journalling, adventure and mindful workshops we provide a safe space for you to explore both who you are and who you have yet to become.
Your experience includes:
5 Days / 4 nights at Nectar - Retreat into nature, press pause, and enjoy a balance of introspection through yoga and relaxation. Sitting on 20 acres of forested land, Nectar provides a space that feels like home, a breath of fresh air (literally) and an escape from the city buzz.
3 Nourishing meals / day (vegetarian) + fresh fruit and snacks - We cater to any allergies or food preferences you may have! Our private chef is a talented local caterer and has designed menu offerings with seasonal rhythms. Every dish displays unique creativity, attention to detail, and commitment to serving others.
4 Morning Yoga Practices - Mikaela leads a 1.5 hour morning practice consisting of a Vinyasa class (flow), guided breathwork, meditation and journalling. She calls this a “Magic Morning” as every morning holds a specific intention which is weaved throughout and integrated into the remainder of the day.
4 Evening Yoga Practices - Mikaela offers a variety of 75 min. evening practices (Yin/Vinyasa : deep stretch paired with a slow & sweet flow, Restorative Yoga, Yin + Yoga Nidra).
Pilates - Mikaela offers 1 pilates class during this retreat. It’s a 45 min. mat pilates class focussing on activating deeper muscle groups, moving with breath, and firing up the entire body!
Off Site Activities - Group hike (Bluewater reservoir loop), Grafton Lake Day Swim / hangout, Option to check out Bowen Cider House: family owned and run orchard-based craft cider producing traditional and varietal cider using heritage apples hand picked from their orchards.
On Site Offerings / Activities - Access to Nectar’s brand new forest bath (hot tub), yoga dome (whenever class isn’t scheduled), walking meditation trail on property, relax in the lodge or outside in the hammocks - Nectar is so peaceful and quiet, there is plenty of space to kick back, recharge, and hang out with yourself or one another!
Special Event: Sound Healing Ceremony, also known as sound therapy, uses different aspects of sound to improve an individual's emotional and physical well-being. At the physical level, sound waves can produce vibrations that travel through mediums such as air, water, and even body tissues. This practice is deeply rooted in ancient cultures, has gained scientific recognition and is used in modern wellness practices.
Journal + Pen - Mikaela provides you with an Evolve Retreat Journal + pen, and a surprise welcome gift!
Bathrooms Amenities - Nectar provides their homemade shampoo, conditioner and body wash (made in small batch with natural ingredients and essential oils). If you love it as much as Mikaela does, don’t worry, they have some for purchase!
OPTIONAL ADD ON: 1 Hour massage ($125 CAD). Nectar’s massage therapist caters to every aspect of relaxation and healing that your body is asking for!
Please note: Check in is 3pm. Check out is 11am. A ‘whats app’ group is created a month before the retreat to organize carpool/ferry travel!
